Brandi-Lynn Greig

Brandi-Lynn holds an ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), and continues to maintain her Ohio License. She has a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Dakota. She has furthered her education by completing the Communication Disorders Program in Severe Disabilities through Western Carolina University. Over 12 years experience in the specialized area of Speech-Generating Device (SGD) service provision to adults and children with MR/DD with a wide range of cognitive abilities, utilizing both high and low tech equipment. Her experiences also include collaborating and consulting with professionals, family members and other team members regarding assessment, training and therapeutic intervention in SGD.

These experiences incorporated:

  • Selecting and programming devices
  • Customizing vocabularies
  • Fabricating overlays
  • Evaluating access needs for those who are unable to use their hands to touch the device
  • Determine mounting needs for the device and any necessary switches
  • Problem solving device malfunctions
  • Integrating SGD's with other technologies (i.e. Computers)
  • Problem solving functional use and integration of devices into daily needs
 

Sara Beckenhauer
Sara Beckenhauer

Sara grew up in a small town in southwest Nebraska and recently moved to Denver, CO in June 2008. Sara graduated with both her Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science in Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney majoring in Speech Language Pathology. Upon graduation, Sara worked in a school district in Phoenix, Arizona area where she supported the speech/language needs for the self-contained classrooms in the district. While in Arizona, she also gained experience in the district's Early Child Development Program. Sara specialized in a wide range of cognitive abilities, using and developing both high tech and low tech communication systems. Her experiences also include collaborating and consulting with professionals, family members and other team members regarding assessment, training and therapeutic intervention in language and communication. In her spare time, Sara enjoys spending time with her friends and family, being active, hiking, running = marathons, skiing and attending sporting events.
 

Katie Lindholm
Katie Lindholm

Katie is originally from North Dakota and moved to Colorado immediately following graduating in 2008. She earned her Bachelor's of Art in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of North Dakota, where she went on to earn her Master's of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. Katie moved to the town of Windsor, where she is currently employed as a district Speech-Language Pathologist. She is also a member of the district SWAAAC team that helps to determine student's access to their academic environment, as well as need for assistive augmentative communication and technology. She enjoys working with middle school and high school students with moderate to severe needs, which has been her working caseload for the past four years. In her free time, Katie enjoys reading, cooking, taking walks and spending time with her family. Katie resides in Windsor, CO with her husband and dog.
 

Kristen Lindgren
Kristen Lindgren

Kristen received her Master of Arts in Communicative Disorders from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. Kristen has worked with both elementary and secondary students in the public schools who have a wide range of speech and language disorders. She has supported both teachers and students with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) needs in the classroom environment. More recently, prior to relocating to Colorado in 2010, Kristen served on her district's Assistive Technology team where she conducted AAC evaluations and provided training and consultation to families, staff and other Speech-Language Pathologists.
 

Kara Cannon

Kara received her Masters Degree in Communicative Disorders from California State University, Long Beach in December 2007 and spent many years working at a preschool in California for students with special needs. There, she had the opportunity to work with preschool students of all levels and with a variety of communication needs. In 2002, she received a certificate in Assistive Technology and created an Assistive Technology Program in the Torrance Unified School District. This position enabled her to evaluate and consult with school district staff on augmentative communication and other technology needs for students with disabilities. In 2007, Kara and her family moved to Colorado in order to be closer to family. Here she has continued to work with children of all ages and all levels of need. In her spare time, Kara enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, reading and traveling.
 

Melissa Denker
Melissa Denker

Melissa is originally from Arkansas and moved out to Colorado after graduating 5 years ago. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Arkansas in 2003 and went on to receive her Master’s of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Southwest Missouri State University in 2005. After graduating, Melissa moved to Fort Collins, CO where she worked with children and adults at the Center for Neurorehabilitation and the Children’s Speech and Reading Center. Melissa then went on to further her experience through travel therapy for 3 years, traveling around the country and working at various hospitals and clinics. Melissa has now settled back down in Wellington, CO with her husband Chris and 2 dogs. She now enjoys working with various patients with neurological disorders through the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and sees children part time through Inspiring Talkers. Melissa specializes in a variety of adult and pediatric neurological and cognitive disorders and works with low tech and high tech augmentative devices.
 

Terri Ryan-Brucker
Terri Ryan-Brucker

Terri graduated from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 1986 with a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology. Her passion is for working with young children with a wide variety of communication needs and their families. Terri worked as a SLP for several years in New Jersey in a preschool program for children with special needs. There she had the opportunity to work full-time in the classroom in conjunction with the special education teacher as well as serving as a member of a multidisciplinary team. She also worked in the public school settings in Colorado and in California providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to children preschool through 6th grade. In addition she has worked in the clinic setting for Scottish Rite Childhood Language Disorders Programs in Los Angeles and San Jose, CA. providing speech and language services to children ages 2-17. Families were an integral part of these therapy programs. Terri enjoys spending time with her family, hiking and camping and loves to garden and paint!
 

Amy Seelig

Speech Language Therapist CCC-SLP, Special Education Teacher
Amy Seelig is an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist licensed in the state of Colorado. Amy received her undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders and Speech Science in 1994 and her Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology in 1997, both at the University of Colorado, Boulder. After completing her M.A., Amy moved to the Oregon coast where she spent several years providing diagnostic and therapeutic services for early intervention and preschool children with a variety of communication needs in home and school settings. She taught special education preschool and toddler classes and participated on the evaluation team. In 2001, Amy returned to her native Colorado and began working with a multi-disciplinary team at the Anchor Center for Blind Children in Denver. In addition, she contracted with home health agencies, county early intervention programs and private clients. Amy spent five years in the public schools serving preschool-8th grade students. In 2005, she acquired her special education teaching license in the state of Colorado with an emphasis in reading disabilities.
In 2008, Amy decided to connect her life-long love of horses with her therapy for young children. She successfully pursued this passion by working closely with other therapists experienced in hippotherapy, completing the AHA (American Hippotherapy Association) Level I and Level II courses and obtaining her NARHA Registered Instructor certification. Amy lives in Erie with her husband, black lab, and calico.
 

Jennifer Wiedmeier

Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science in special and elementary education from Montana State University in 2002. After graduating, she moved to Colorado where she taught in a severe needs classroom for five years. She worked with students who had many diverse and complex learning needs and their families. During her time teaching, she recognized the need for quality speech language intervention for children with limited communication. In 2007 she began her master’s degree in speech language pathology at the University of Northern Colorado. She has worked as a speech language pathologist in the public schools and is now working with children and their families with Inspiring Talkers. Her specialty is working with children with complex learning and behavior needs and to help them to improve their quality of life through communication.
